Ronald J. Rainey, 80, of rural Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home.

Ronald had lived in Pike County for the last 40 years, having moved there from Gibson County. 

Ronald was born on September 11, 1935 in Gibson County, Indiana to Homer Rainey and Margaret (Mullins) Rainey. 

He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He worked at Whirlpool Corporation on the line for 33 years.  He loved hunting, fishing, and his animals.

He is survived by his son, Tom Rainey, his daughter, Cindy Becker, and a grandson, Nathan Rainey.  He is also survived by 5 brothers, Donald, Wayne, Orville, Norman, and Gordon; 4 sisters, Bonnie Basham, Mary Tait, Edna Loveless, and Margie Horne.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Keith Jenkins.  Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City with Military Graveside Services by Retired Military Veterans.

Visitation will be from 10 am until 3 pm on Sunday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
