Opal Mae Brown 95, of Princeton, peacefully passed into the presence of her Heavenly Father, on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Gibson General Hospital skilled nursing facility in Princeton, IN. surrounded by her family.

Opal was born May 9, 1921 in Rural Francisco to Rev. Russell and Nellie (Stevens) Burnes, both of which precede and has been a lifelong Gibson County area resident.

On November 24, 1937 in Washington, IN, she married Irvin Brown who preceded her March 31, 2000 and was a homemaker and also worked in the kitchen at the Franklin grade school in Princeton for many years.

She was a long time member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton, working in the 4 & 5 year old Sunday School class, working in the kitchen and loved working with the kids in Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by her son, John (Abby) Brown of Princeton and a sister, Dorothy Ryan of Elyria, OH. Other survivors include grandchildren; Jasan (Juli) Brown, Shay Robinson, Amanda Brown, Dwayne (Casie) Crabtree, Robin (Mike) Hockaday and Patty Wright as well as 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents, husband Irvin, daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Samuel Wright and brothers; Hershel, Donald, Russell Jr. and Robert Burnes and sister, Mabel Lambert.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Bethel Memorial Church, located at 1520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will take place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery located in Princeton.

Visitation will be Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the church.
