Dr. William Reavis Hasselbrinck, 87, passed away at his home in Princeton, Indiana on July 27, 2016.

He was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 11, 1929 to George and Nola Hasselbrinck.

He was a graduate of Francisco High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He received doctorates in history and education at Indiana State University and Ball State University. He was a principal in Warren Township in Indianapolis in the early 60’s. He was a professor of history at Oakland City College from 1964 to 1996.

He was active in Boy Scouts as a leader for over 50 years. He enjoyed aviation and earned his private pilot license. He was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marietta (Couch) Hasselbrinck.

He is survived by his son, Fred (Karyn) Hasselbrinck; grandchildren, Scott and Grace; and long-time companion, Nancy Griffith. The Couch sisters were his nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 2 pm at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be at the Francisco Cemetery in Francisco. Visitation will be from 12 pm until service time on Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home.
