Caroline Gullic, 78, of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

She was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on January 17, 1938 to the late Elry Earl and Mildred (Seeds) Vaughn.

In her early years she was a candy striper. She was a graduate of Lawrenceville High School and was a homemaker and had also formerly worked at Oakland City College. She had resided in Oakland City since 1978, after traveling the world with her husband while he served in the U. S. Navy for many years. She worked in the commissary while in Cuba. She was a member and also the financial secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church in Oakland City. She was a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star where she was Past Grand Martha and Past Deputy of District 1.

She is survived by her husband, Frank William “Bud” Gullic Jr., to whom she was married in 1957; also several nieces and nephews.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents and also several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Rev. Larry Stoops officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow, along with Graveside services at 2:30 p.m. at the City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
