David W. Sherman 85, Owensville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at The Waters of Princeton.

He was born Sunday, Oct. 12, 1930 to Charles Arthur and Vestie Ola (Yaden) Sherman in London, Kentucky.

David was a truck driver with R.A. Harold Distribution as well as Warren Pearce Trucking in Haines City, Florida. Mr. Sherman grew up in Hazleton and was a member of the Princeton Eagles Lodge.

He is survived a sister, Dorothy Koberstein, Princeton and granddaughters; Stacy Ivers of Hazelton, Kellie Hatton, Winslow and Jamie Moore Burns of Petersburg; six great grandchildren and 14 great - great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Debbie Sue Moore, better known as “Debbie Do.” He is also preceded by brother, Charles” Bud” Sherman and sister, Jean Ruckman.

Per David’s wishes cremation is taking place with burial of ashes to take place at noon Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at Hazleton Community Cemetery, with grandson William Christopher Schatz officiating.

A celebration of life gathering is from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 the Hazelton Community Center.

Family has entrusted Doyle Funeral Home with arrangements.
