Darvin F. Buck, 81, of Mt. Carmel, IL, formerly of Fort Branch, IN, passed away in Evansville, IN on October 15, 2016.

He was born to the late Elmer and Ida (Pflug) Buck in Gibson County Indiana on September 19, 1935.

He graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1954, served in the National Guard and enjoyed a long career in telecommunications. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Branch, IN for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Fort Branch Masonic Lodge F&AM 696 for over 50 years where he was a Worshipful Master 3 times and a Master Ritualist presenting over 2000 lectures.  He was also a member of the Friday Night Dance Club, Coterie Dance Club of Evansville, IN, and Evansville Scottish Rite. Darvin and his wife, Linda, loved dancing and also traveled to all 50 states and numerous other countries.  He also enjoyed his St. Louis Cardinals and water aerobics. Church was an important part of his life.  He was a member at St. John's United Church of Christ in Buckskin, the Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville, and also attended Parkview Christian Church in Mt.Carmel.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Jason Buck, sisters Eloise Gaffney, Verneda Block, Norma Kruse, and Nola Buck.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda (Smith) Buck of Mt. Carmel, IL, children Leslie (Mark) Wilson of Carmel, IN, Brett (Rebecca) Buck of Middletown, IN, Lori (Richard) Goddard of Fishers, IN, stepchildren Stephen Hortin of Grayville, IL, Cynthia (Kenneth) Graef of Mt. Carmel, IL, sister Jeanie (Paul) Cardinal of Princeton, IN, grandchildren Hali, Logan (Shelley), Carson, and Andrew Buck, Abby (Brett) Shipley, Kylene and Kaleb Graef, Michael Hortin, Jacob Read, James and David Goddard, great grandchildren Addison Shipley and Lucas Graef and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Darvin will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Stodghill Funeral Home on Highway 168 in Fort Branch, IN with burial following at St. John's United Church of Christ in Buckskin, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with The Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Lodge having services at 7:30 PM. There will also be visitation from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
