Margie A. Schneider, 82, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Alois H. and Anna M. (Anslinger) Dewig on June 16, 1934, in Haubstadt, IN.  

Margie was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Altar Society and past president. She also worked at the church’s preschool, KinderHaus, for many years. Margie loved children and enjoyed playing Mrs. Claus for the school. She enjoyed gardening, country music and dancing, but foremost, she loved her family.

Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by the love of her life for 62 years, Eugene Schneider, three brothers, Norman, Eugene and Raymond Dewig and two sisters Helen Weber and Esther Burns.

Margie is survived by six children, Cynthia (Robert) Montgomery of Haubstadt, IN, Peggy (Keith) Little of Wadesville, IN, Carleen (Reed) Tisserand of Newburgh, IN, Greg (Debbie) Schneider of Haubstadt, IN, Carol (Karl) Fennell of Denver, CO  and Sherri (Greg) Lonz of Bluffton, SC, 16 grandchildren, Kelly Fenol, Jill Pack, Amanda Reising, Jennifer Little, Meghan Ayala, Carrie Shaw, Nicole Troyer and Emma Tisserand, Steven, Brad, and Aaron Schneider, Skyler and Landon Fennell, Adeline, Anderson, and Archer Dewig and Carson Lonz. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Irma Helfrich of Haubstadt IN.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, with Fathers Tony Ernst and Biju Thomas, co-celebrants. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 10:00 AM until service time at the church on Tuesday.
