James L. Dillon, 84 of Owensville, passed away Saturday January 28, 2017 at Pine Haven Health and Rehab in Evansville IN.

He was born on Saturday April 30, 1932 in Gibson County the son of Dewey and Amy Dorothy (Waters) Dillon.

Jim was a graduate of Owensville High School class of 1951. He worked many years as a civilian contractor for the military, working in missile installations to the Naval yards. After retiring Jim enjoyed working as a tree contractor and landscaper. He was a member of the Owensville Masonic Lodge and Prince Lodge of Princeton. Jim also enjoyed reminiscing about his days playing basketball at Owensville High School and talking about his family’s history.

He is survived by one son Howard Anthony Dillon, one brother George Dillon of Poseyville, two nieces Karen and her husband Jim Richardson of Owensville and Amy and her husband Mark Stephens of Poseyville and one nephew Wayne and his wife Amy Dillon of Clarksville TN. Also surviving are four great nieces Kimberly and her husband Ryan Robertson of Cincinnati OH and Tessa, Rachel, and Meredith Stephens of Poseyville, four great great nephews and a sister in law Peggy Dillon of Owensville.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Charles Wayne and Kenneth Dillon and a nephew Kevin Dillon.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 31 at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Kevin Miley officiating, in the chapel of Holders Funeral Home in Owensville, with burial to follow in Maumee Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
