Phyllis Marcella (Waller) Strunk, 92 passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton, IN 47670.

She was born in Oakland City on January 15, 1924, to Charles and Edna (Risley) Waller.

She and Charles Adam Strunk were married January 6, 1945.

She went to Lockyears Business College for bookkeeping. She was a life member of Eastern Star. She was also a homemaker and member of the First General Baptist Church of Princeton, IN. She taught a high school Sunday school class for years at FGBC Oakland City, and had an adult Bible study in her home in Princeton. She was a lifetime member of Tri Kappa, sang in the church choir, played the piano and organ for her pass time, and had a beautiful soprano voice.

Phyllis is survived by her 6 children and their spouses, Cherissa & Larry Williams of Evansville, Deborah Talbert of Evansville, Charles Alan Strunk of Oakland City, Anita & David Walters of Princeton, Renee and Royce Haws of Newburgh, and Sheila Cross of Newburgh; sister-in-law, Joan Waller of Oakland City, brother-in-law, Kenneth Barnard of Fishers; grandchildren, Marcella & Doug Mills, Whitley & Malte Schoop, Priscilla & Michael Runion, Gale Cross Jr., Hannah Cross, Chloe Jean Cross and Isabella Haws; 6 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Marc & Elaine Waller, Lisa & Richard Clark, Eva & John Lisle and Evan & Cindy Barnard, Diana & Mark Broshears, and Michael & Kelly Shaw.

She joins in eternity her parents, Charles & Edna (Risley) Waller; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Gene (Waller) & Ellis Truitt; brother, William C. Waller; sister, Carolyn (Waller) Barnard; and grandson Skylar Charles Haws.

Our precious mother lived by God’s word, Mark 12:30, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment”.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, IN 47660. Pastor Brad Keenan of First General Baptist Church in Princeton, IN will be officiating. Burial will be at the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, IN. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
