Frances June Halwes, 89, of Fort Branch, passed away with her family by her side, and entered into the presence of her Lord Monday, March 6, 2017 at Gibson General Hospital-Skilled Nursing Facility in Princeton.

She was born January 3, 1928 in Princeton, to the late Charles Harry and Lorene (Yeager) Beadle.

She graduated from Fort Branch High School in 1946 and resided in the Fort Branch community her entire lifetime. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton.

Before marrying Frederick Halwes on July 9, 1960, Frances worked at Emge’s and Welborn Clinic and traveled to Europe. However, she dearly loved being a homemaker as she lived by Proverbs 31 principles as a loving and dedicated farmer’s wife for 32 ½ years and a mother who loved the Lord.

She liked to read, sew, tole paint and crochet in her spare time. More importantly she loved to be involved in helping or cooking for loved ones or in church ministries, such as teaching, encouraging and being hospitable to ladies, children and missionaries.

Frances is survived by a son, Scott Halwes (Tricia) of Huber Heights, OH; a daughter, Suzanne Odom (Pat) of Fort Branch; 4 grandchildren, Stephen Halwes (Kristian) of Riverside, OH, Sarah Bellanti (Jordan) of Fairfield Township, OH, LeeAnn Munro (Thomas), Benjamin Odom of Fort Branch; 4 great grandchildren, Micah Halwes, Killian Halwes, Anabelle Munro and Gunner Munro; also several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick Halwes; sisters, Betty Jane Farrar and Bonnie Jean Bays.

Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 800 W. Faith Blvd., Princeton, IN 47670, with Pastor Mark Massaro and Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Fort Branch. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m.Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main Street, Princeton, IN and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
