James “Jim” L. Minnis, 75, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home in Princeton.

He was born on May 18, 1942 in Princeton, IN to James B. and Ruth (Foley) Minnis, both deceased.

He was an electrician at Whirlpool for 42 years and was a member of the Whirlpool Union #808. He was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. He was a member of the antique motorcycle club and attended their annual event for 20 straight years held in Portland, IN. He was an avid motorcycle collector, and definitely a picker (when picking wasn’t cool), always looking for different things. He also enjoyed visiting the nursing homes regularly.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandy Minnis of Princeton; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lynn Minnis of Princeton; grandson, Kevin Minnis (Heather) of Princeton; step-grandchildren, Caleb Marx and Chelsey King; and 2 great granddaughters, Alexa and Aubrey Minnis.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Larry Meadows. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday and from noon until service time on Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
