Janet M. George, 79, of Princeton and formerly of Gilbertsville, KY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.

She was born October 29, 1937 in Hammond IN.

She worked for George Equipment, City of Cynthiana, Youngstown Steel in East Chicago, IN and owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Tavern in Cynthiana. She later was a cook with Ingram Barges. She loved to cook and was especially known for her pork tacos that everyone loved.

She is survived by her 4 children, Barbara Mulkey (Jeff), Wanda Greenwell (James), Brenda Moore (Mike), Ron Harness (Dawn) and step-daughter Diane Paca; 10 grandchildren, Travis Mulkey, Megan Greenwell, Kassey Willis (Rodney), Brittney Abel (Jace), Ryan Harden (Lauren), Caitlin Mulkey, Cailee Mulkey, Wesley Harness, Hannah Harness and Hayley Harness; 6 great grandchildren; Eli Dant, Chandlyr & Makayah Abel, Paige & Lane Willis and Macy Mulkey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Jongsma; mother, Marcile Jane (Havling) Zibbrowski; 1st husband, John J. Harness; 2nd husband, Duane George; son, Wesley Harness; sister, Betty Vieitez; and a brother, Bill Terpstra.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor James Greenwell. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 10 until noon Saturday at the funeral home.
