Billy V. Barrett, 82, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017 at his residence.

He was born March 9, 1935 in Gibson County to the late Joseph C. and Elsie L. (Jordan) Barrett.

Bill was a graduate of Princeton High School class of 1953. Served his county in the United States Army worked and retired from the CSX railroad after 42 years. He owned and operated Barrett Timber along the side of his cousin Harold for over 50 years. Bill was also a member of the Maumee General Baptist Church and the Wednesday night card club.

Survivors include his daughters, Tamara (Kevin) Miley of Owensville and Debra (Pete) Graham of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Laura Shackelford (Shaun) Davidson, Taylor Barrett Graham and Blythe Vaughn Graham, Sean Graham; sister, Trillis (David) Perrin, Mesa, AZ; special friend Sandra Kolb; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many life-long friends that were a valuable support to him.

Bill was preceded in death by parents, wife of 52 years Nell (Staley) siblings, Maurice Blythe Barrett and Bettye Jo Jones.

Services will be Friday September 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Maumee General Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Nelson and Pastor Kevin Miley officiating. Burial will be in Maumee Cemetery with full military honors by the retired military.


Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 at Holders Funeral Home.
