Mary Katherine Richardson age 91, of Princeton, IN passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Gibson General Hospital 5th floor skilled nursing unit located in Princeton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Monday, May 3, 1926 in Pike County, Indiana to Horace and Jane Conner Wiley both of whom have preceded.

Mary was the oldest of five siblings and worked several jobs, including retiring from Potter & Brumfield after 30 years. After her retirement she started a new job of quilting. This job soon turned into her passion. All of her children, grandchildren and some great grandchildren and nephews have quilts that she lovingly made.

She was known for her talent as a cook and the ability to whip up a feast for her large family on short notice. Her great disappointment in her last years was that she did not have a stove in her room to cook for her family. She also sewed, making clothes for her family, including wedding gowns for her girls, bridesmaid dressed, and in later life, made the bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses for her granddaughters’ weddings. She was very talented. She also repaired many camo hunting related clothes for her sons and grandsons and made pajamas for her grandsons and dresses for her granddaughters. Her accomplishments were many and so appreciated by all.

Mary was preceded by her husband, John Richardson; sisters Fern Whitehead and Dorothy Nutter, brother Clifford Wiley, son-in-law Rick Jones, and grandson Alex Steel Jones; brother-in-laws Gerald Richardson, George Richardson, Bud Richardson, Herschel Richardson, Raymond Richardson and sister-in-law Dorothy Richardson Waddell.

Mary is survived by her children Jane Ann Jones, Jonnie Kay (Sam) Watkins, Larry Alvin (Rhonda) Richardson, Gary Wiley (Jane) Richardson and Michael John Richardson (Susan Bobe). Also surviving is one sister, Jean Williams. She is also survived by brother-in-laws Ron Nutter, Jack Whitehead, and sister-in-laws Betty and Bonnie Richardson. She is also survived by a loving nephew and family that were there for her always, Jim and Judy (Wiley) Adams and their children Zach and Josh and their wives, and their children. Jim was like a son to Mary than a nephew. She was blessed with many Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Melissa Jones (Mike) Pescetto and their children Mitchell and Miles; Jamie Angela (Watkins) (John)Bruce and children John Calvin Bruce and Jacob Conner Bruce and Michael Thomas Watkins and daughter Jada Glenn, Stacy Richardson (Kenny) Preston and their children Addison, Savannah and Noah; Daniel Richardson and son Spencer, Brittany Richardson Burkett and her children Chloe, Kynley and Kortland; Chassity Richardson and her son Zeplynn; Zane (Tori) Richardson; Sascha Richardson and her children Luna Katherine and Zuri and grandchild Jaya Wilderman.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She loved them all.

Mary attended the First Church of God in Princeton prior to being admitted to the hospital. Afterwards she attended church services at the hospital and was so especially fond of services officiated by Patrick Peyton who was a grandson to her best friend Ruby Peyton. Mary was one of the sweetest people that God ever put on this earth and has now passed into His loving arms.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff of the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, to Dr. Bruce Brink Jr., and to the others, including the residents, of the hospital that cared for Mary.

The family has entrusted Doyle Funeral Home of Princeton with charge of the arrangements.  Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 7, 2017 with Patrick Peyton officiating. Interment will take place in Columbia White Church Cemetery of Princeton.  Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S.
