Frederick Douglas, 83, of Owensville passed away at home February 24, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He was born 17 Dec 1934 in Owensville to the late Lloyd R. Douglas and Emma Frances (Ready) Douglas.

Frederick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed farming, playing cards, watching basketball, being active in his grandchildren’s activities, cattle showing, and spending time at the local cafés (Owensville Café and Pat’s place). He was a member of Harness Racing association, The Masonic lodge, United Methodist Church, Clark Cemetery board, and past member of Gibson County fair board. He was known for feeding the horses at the farm and the track.


Frederick survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Douglas; brother David (Margaret) Douglas; children Mick Douglas, Dixie (Bill) Dickerson, and John (Becky) Douglas; grandchildren Deidra Dickerson, Gunner Douglas, and Kix Douglas; aunt Dorothy Laib; and several nieces and nephews.


Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Peggy J. Peach and infant brother Billy Ray Douglas.


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Holders Funeral Home at 10am with visitation Tuesday 4p-7p and 9a-10a Wednesday.
