Gregory Keith Chavis, 62, of Princeton, passed away on May 2, 2018.

He was welcomed into this world to Verna Mae Chavis on July 18, 1955 in Princeton, Indiana. Greg was employed by Texas Gas, Peabody Coal, Gibson County Coal North, and most recently was self-employed at South Main Car Wash. He enjoyed playing softball, basketball, football and coaching youth sports.

He is survived by a son, Mr. Joshua Chavis (Leather Vore); 2 granddaughters, Remini & Rozlyn Chavis; brothers, Von, Dana and Tyrone Chavis; sisters, Alvyna Goins, Gwen Hurd, Tamara Givens and Tricia Rister; along with several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Mae Chavis and brothers, Gary, Byron & Craig Chavis.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor James Wilkerson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station, west of Princeton. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour at Colvin Funeral Home.
