Lloyd E. “Gene” Richardson, 88, of Princeton, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville.

He was born on January 20, 1930 in Mackey, IN to Burch and Hazel (Britton) Richardson.

He served in the Korean War and was a long time employee of the Princeton Telephone Company.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 66 years, Mary (Wilkinson) Richardson; children, Steven E. Richardson (Patti) and Melanie Smith (Alan); 6 grandchildren, Steven T. Richardson (Jennifer), Jamie Phillippe (Doban), Ryan Smith (Cheryl), Emily Hearlston (Michael), Matthew Richardson (Emily) and Ashley Tibbs (Chase); 11 great grandchildren, Tyler & Alyssa Richardson, Noah, Reagan & Sawyer Phillippe, Judah & Savannah Richardson, Hannah, Cru & Gage Smith and Michael Alan Hearlston; and brother, Randall Richardson (Wilma).

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Floyd Richardson; and sisters, Cleda Folsom and Mildred Stilwell.

The family gives special thanks to the Gateway Heart Hospital and the Linda White Hospice House for their compassion and care.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Matthew Richardson and Pastor Curtis Bond.  Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Sunday at the church.
