(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Samuel A. Stewart, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says that in the year 1885 he was a member of the firm doing business in the name of “Stewart and Danks”, and to whom on the 22nd day of April 1885, Laura A. Thompson and husband conveyed location No. 215,in Sect. 29 twp 1, range 10 west in Gibson County, Indiana, and he positively knows that at the time of said conveyance, of the firm “Stewart and Danks” was composed of two persons namely Samuel A. Stewart and Joseph C. Danks. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 14th day of August 1923 signed Charles W. Benton, Notary Public.
