(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

William F. Chappell, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with S. G. Marshall to whom on the 31st day of October 1910, Jesse Tyree and wife conveyed 80 acres in Sec. 9 in Township 2 South of Range 9 west in Gibson County Indiana, and he was personally acquainted with Sylvester G. Marshall to whom on the 10th day of February 1925 conveyed the above described real estate to Blain Pugh and his wife Grace Pugh, and he positively knows that the said S. G. Marshall and the said Sylvester G. Marshall were one and the same person. Signed William F. Chappell. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 9th day of July, 1931 signed Charles W.
