(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

John Cleveland, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with William McReynolds who on the 9th day of July 1881, executed a deed of conveyance to Charles H. Wille and Benjamin F. Davis for the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25, Town 3 south, Range 13 West and other lands all in Gibson County, and he positively knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance the said William McReynolds was a widower and had no living wife to join him in said conveyance.  Signed John Cleveland.
