(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

James Cantrell, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Daniel Lyles, Jr., and Mary Lyles, his wife who on the 2nd day of October 1919...executed a deed of conveyance to Fred Lyles, and he positively knows that since the execution of said deed of conveyance the said Daniel Lyles, Jr., has departed this life, but the said Mary Lyles is still living.  Signed James Cantrell.
