(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

G. M. Emmerson, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with Hiram F. Sides who on the 6th day of march 1860, executed a deed of conveyance to Frank Hoffman, and he positively knows that at the time of executing said deed, Hiram F. Sides was a married man, and his wife was named Nancy Sides. Affiant further says, that Hiram F. Sides departed this life, testate in the year 1900 leaving him surviving his only heirs at law, his widow Nancy Sides, and his 6 children, namely, John Sides, Alexander Sides, Thomas Sides, Sylvester Sides, Mary A. Meade, the wife of Stephen R. Meade and Ella B. Sides who afterward intermarried with Alva A. Carter.  Signed G. M. Emmerson .
