(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

S. C. Finch, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with William I. Gillespie, who on the 15th day of February 1883, executed a deed of conveyance to Philemon Cleninger for the NW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 8, Town 3south, range 9 west in Gibson County Indiana, and he knows that at the time of executing said deed of conveyance, the said William I. Gillespie was an unmarried man, and lived his entire life as a bachelor. Signed S. C. Finch. Subscribed and sworn to before me on this 18th day of December 1923 signed Charles W.
