(Most of the documents were assembled in the 1920's, but often refer to events from much earlier.  There is a tremendous amount of detail referring to proof of family relationships.)

Landon Kell, being first duly sworn on his oath deposes and says, that he was personally acquainted with James Elwyn to whom on the 17th day of Nov., 1871, James W. Cockrum and wife conveyed lots numbered 7 & 8, in Block #2 in the Western Enlargement to the Town of Oakland, in Gibson County, Indiana, and he was personally acquainted with James T. Elwyn who on the 18th day of Jan. 1880 conveyed said lots to Garrett M. Emmerson and he positively knows that the said James Elwyn and the said James T. Elwyn were one and the same person, and that the Garrett M. Emmerson to whom said conveyance was made was one and the same person as Garrard M. Emmerson who on the 5th day of May 1890 conveyed said lots and other lots to Martha Ingler. Affiant further says that he was personally acquainted with Mary Wirth to whom on the 8th day of March 1906, Mary I. Broshears and husband conveyed the lots herein first described and other lots and he was personally acquainted with May Wirth who on the 31st day of Jan. 1907, conveyed all of said lots to Mary I. Broshears, and he knows that the said Mary Wirth and the said May Wirth were one and the same person. Affiant further says that he was personally acquainted with Mary B. Skelton and William J. Skelton, husband and wife, to whom on the 5th day of Aug. 1922 Barbara Harvey and husband conveyed lot # 7 herein first described and that he was personally acquainted with James W. Skelton and wife Mary B. Skelton who on the 18th day of Nov. 1926 conveyed said lot # 7, to Fred C. Benton and he knows that the said William J. Skelton and the said James W.
