From the 1860 census of Grant County we find Geo. W. Ammon age 48 living in Sims Twp. and born in Virginia pg. 270 This could be him or his son???
From the State Civil War Archives we find Watson Ammon Res. Muncie, Indiana MI 8-30-1862 Unassigned 8th Ind. Inf. MO 5-12-1865.
Date and method of discharge not given. Believe Watson Ammon and George W. Ammon to be the same person.

Residence not listed; 19 years old. Enlisted on 11/9/1861 as a Private. On 12/19/1861 he mustered into "G" Co. OH 48th Infantry He died on 5/5/1862 at Cincinnati, OH Promotions: * Corpl 1/14/1862
Mentioned in Whitson's History, so am assuming he was a resident for some period of time before his death. This entry is questionable.
