Hi I am your new county Coordinator - Judi Burns - I have been the assistant up till now - working in the background with Katy to get material for the site.

I have done alot of Greene county reasearch on my own lines - which date back before the county was established, my last ancestor entered from Owen county Indiana in 1870 Robert Thomas McKee (my great-grandfather) he was the county commissioner when the 1885 courthouse was built, a civil war verteran and I have 2 of his Civil War Dairies. My Greene county lineage is up at: Ahnentafel of Judith Elaine (Mc Kee) Burns

Since the first of April I have been in the process of sifting through the folders - transfering them to the new site with a new format - seeing what is up and what lurks in the background. Please be patient - this will take some time. I am goign back to spot check the pages I put up thus far on the new site - to make sure e-mail changes took effect - in changing over I am using the "extended search and replace" feature in my HTML program - it may not catch all the changes at first because of formatting style.

Have you submitted information the past year and it is not up on site? Please let me know - so I know what I am looking for in her folders. If I find new stuff not up I will add it as I go

Recently I have been doing a complete overhaul on the site, rearranging pages to get them more organized. I've noticed there are some things I would like to have more information on. For instance, I would like to have more of the census records available for researchers. If you would be interested in transcribing the census images, please contact me.

I also want to start a page of folklore, stories told around the fireplace and handed down from one generation to the next. I think it is important to know more about our ancestors than just where they were born and died. So, if you have stories told to you about your family, send them too me and I will include them. They will add a great deal of flavor to your genealogy.

There are a couple of ways to do submissions. You may want to send your information as an attachment to my e-mail address at:

Or, you may want to send a cd to me (especially useful if you have a lot). Just e-mail me and then I will give you an address in which to mail it too.

On all corresponse please include, Greene County, IN and complete information about what you are sending me.
