Hiram Allen and John S. Allen
And it turns out that Hiram Allen's father Andrew J. Allen is buried Walnut Grove Cemetery (Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana). as well (in 1875). However, it is still possible that his father Andrew J. Allen was in Greene County during the 1860 Census (age about 65 years?).

Could you tell me if the 1860 Census for Greene County (Indiana)has a man named Hiram ALLEN (wife perhaps Lucinda?).

Hiram ALLEN was buried in 1896 in Walnut Grove Cemetery (Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana). Anyway, it is said that Hiram Allen was actually in DaviessCounty until at least 1862, so he won't show up in 1860 Census in Greene County after all.

If so, does it list a son named John S. ALLEN, about 10 year sold?

John S. Allen was married around 1880 to Sabetha O'Donald (of Taylor Township).

I already have the O'Donald ancestry, but so far I am having trouble with the Allen ancestry. I'm beginning to wonder if the Allens perhaps lived in another county from the O'Donald family. - - Thanks, Ken Kinman

I am looking for the marriage of my great grandfather to his 3rd wife, here's the info I know
Groom Name:   John Wesley Wills
b. 1877-1879, NC or TN
Bride Name:   (Golda) Fern Burks/Burke/Burkes
b. ?? 1880-90's When/Where:

She is listed as a border with him in Linton, IN in 1920. Census taken January of 1920.  They should have married shortly thereafter, their marriage is not listed in the WPA Marriage Index.

They had a daughter, Janice, born October 1, 1920.

She died in 1927 of pneumonia in either Linton or Indianapolis.

He died in June of 1929 in an isolated coal mining accident. They are both buried in Fairview Cemetery,Linton.

Hello: I gave up on my family research awhile ago, but I'm going to start again!

I'm wondering if I could "sponsor" and pay someone (High School History student?) or someone to do a photography/documentation of all of the tombstones/graves in Buzan Cemetery, where I think a lot of my WILLS ancestors are buried.

I will be making a trip to Greene County next year with my daughter so I'm trying to get as much info verified before we make the visit.

Thanks and let me know if my request if feasible. Ken Wills

I believe you and I corresponded before about Norval Melton which I am related to. I have not found anything on him sice we last talked. I am puzzled about his second wife, Martha J. Hanson. Was her maiden Todd? I know she married a Charles L. Parnell before Norval. Do you know what her maiden was? Or anything about her? Thanks, Carla

NOte - Norval Melton was married to my great great Aunt Peral Edington who re-married to John Mc Laughlin, Judi

This is a strange request. I am researching my husbands family, the Vaughns. His ancestor, Beverly Vaughn (1798-?), deserted his first family in Indiana. I believe his son to be John Vaughn born 1825 in Tn who married Secelia (Sarah) Mayfield and lived in Greene Co, Ind. They had children among whom was Bluford Vaughn. Blufords son, William Thomas Vaughn (1890-1962) had children. I am a member of the Vaughn Pioneers research group and we are trying to find living male members of the William Thomas Vaughn family to test for DNA.

Beverly Vaughn was a son of John and Nancy Callicot Vaughn of Hawkins Co, Tn. We did a DNA on Beverlys great grandson that confirmed this. However, Beverly was a scalawag that had and deserted at least two families. In 1851, he fathered a son Phillip Alexander Vaughn (in Clark Co, Il) who is my husbands grandfather. Then he dropped out of sight. Trying to sort out the very large Vaughn family has been tedious work and DNA seems to be helping us at this point. Someone posted this family on Ancestry.com who is working on this family. If you could direct us to this person or any living male descendents, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you for your help.
