I guess the best way to present my family lineage is to first introduce myself. I was b. in Greene County Linton, Indiana . Both of my parents Donald Tincher & Violet Carpenter were also b. in Linton. I still a lot of family from both sides still in Linton. I currently live in Anderson, Indiana with my wife of 33 years, Connie. Both of my parents are still living & live about 10 miles away. I have one sister who lives in the same town as my parents.

I am going to present both sides of my family in lineage form. Michael Tincher

Mike sent an Ahnentafel chart which was from the ancestry file; this is on Ancestors.com - this is open up on Samuel Tincher and present the group sheet form listing - from there you can choose the style form you wish to see.

There were no places listed in it so I took it to include his lineage only pulling all other data and have gone from there adding back in the places. Mike did so and I slowly revamped it and done it in generational form - croping pictures - that were sumbmitted as one page down to single so could fit on page with out have to fully reduce. Also Mike has a double linage off the Tincher line.

Mike also sent the pictures and newspaper article herein. And the Tincher family story from the Greene County Indiana History of 1985 of which I have a copy and that family line has been added into or back into the lineage.

The historical background on the Tincher family shows that they worked in the coal field of Salesia, Germany, as well as Scotland, and into the new colony of Pennsylvania. Later they moved into the coal fields of West Virginia and Kentucky.

He was the grandson of the first known Tincher in America. He arrivied in Indiana in time for the 1830 census, Greene county, with his wife Hannah. These early pioneers, frontiersmen, if you will were basically farmers, but worked in the coal fields, too.

Paul R Tincher says he remembers his granfather at age of seventy-eight plowing the fields in the morning, coming in at noon for lunch and go back out to finish the plowing for the rest of the day.

Paul graduated from Marco High School . He then entered the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC); after his term ended he did some farming. He worked for the Wabash Trunking as a driver and lived in Wabash, Indiana until he was inducted into World War II in the Army . He served in the Eurporean Theatre operations, being in the first troop to hit the beach on D-day, serving in all five campaigns in the European theatre, and was discharged . After returning home he then went to work for Shuron Continental Optical Company in Indianapolis where he retired from. He makes his home in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.
