Introduction to County Coordinator

Hi I am your new county Coordinator - Judi Burns - I have been the assistant up till now - working in the background with Katy to get material for the site; Katy has consented to be my assistant - coordinator; she had been sick the last last year (2008) - and is doing better.
I don't live in the area, but don't let that stop you from asking questions. I have my resources for finding information and am more than happy to try and help.

However, I CANNOT go to the courthouse or the local newspaper and dig out information. Wish I could :)

I between Rochester and Kewanna of Fulton, Indiana; Winamac, Pulaski, Indiana and Culver, Marshall, Indiana - in other words the 'Boonies' or the 'Sticks'. I am genealogy enthusiast that collected everything that I could find about Greene County and its people.  My family has been in the Greene county area since the before 1840's

I have done allot of Greene county reasearch on my own lines - which date back before the county was established, my last ancestor entered from Owen county Indiana in 1870; Robert Thomas McKee (my great-grandfather) he was the county commissioner when the 1885 courthouse was built, a civil war veteran and I have 2 of his Civil War Dairies. My Greene county lineage is up at: Ahnentafel of Judith Elaine (Mc Kee) Burns
  • Mc Kee, Dye, Gastineau
  • Vandeventer, Long, Turley, Sexton
  • Emery, Mc Whirter/Mewhirter, Whitworth, Hardesty
  • Edington, Williams, Ault, Taylor, Hardesty
and my ahnentafel chart . I also have a websites located at: My Greene County Ancestry & Lake Maxinkuckee It's History and Genealogy. Besides being the new county coordinator for Greene and Sullivan counties as of 22 April 2008;I have been county coordinator for Carroll county Indiana February 2005 and also has several special project pages. Back in 1982 I updated the section on John Emery of Newbury, Massachusetts of which which the Greene county Indiana Emery's descend from and some of the Monroe county Indiana and Lawrence county Indiana Emery's also descend from these Emery's.
