Agnes Paulina CAMPBELL

DEATH'S HARVEST—CAMPBELL

Mrs. Agnes Paulina CAMPBELL was born in Monroe County, Ind., Jan. 5, 1838, and departed this life at her home in BLOOMFIELD, Jan 18, 1915, aged seventy-seven years and thirteen days.

She was a daughter of Solomon and Scina GREENE. She had two brothers–Monroe GREENE, Linton, and Newton GREENE, BLOOMFIELD, and two half-brothers, Charles GREENE, of Monroe County, and James GREENE, deceased. There were three sisters—Mrs. Thomas MADDOX and Mrs. Scina COOPER, deceased, and Mrs. Cyntha MADDOX, of Lyons, who with her brothers and half-brother, survive.

She was married to Green Berry CAMPBELL July 19, 1855. Nine children—four sons and five daughters—were born to them, but one son and one daughter died in infancy and four others passed away after reaching manhood and womanhood, as follows: Lewis Edward, John Troy, Mrs. Rosa Belle LITTLEJOHN and Mrs. Ada May KEYS. The surviving are Miss Clemmie CAMPBELL, Effie W. CAMPBELL and Mrs. Cora WYMER, of BLOOMFIELD. There are also ten living grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Her husband died Dec. 31, 1894, in Highland township, and in 1895 the family moved to BLOOMFIELD, where they have since made their home.

Mrs. CAMPBELL joined the Christian church in Monroe County when about twelve years old, and on moving to BLOOMFIELD she united with the BLOOMFIELD Christian church, and continued a true, consistent member till she went home.

For twenty years she had been afflicted, and therefore was not able to attend the services of her church, but she was always deeply interested in its welfare, and was anxious to see all her loved ones faithful and loyal members of the kingdom of Christ, and was never happier than when they were walking in the commands of the Lord.

In the long years of her affliction her children were most devoted to her, and in every way ministered to her and sought her relief and restoration.

The funeral services were held at Union Bethel Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Elder J. A. SPENCER. Interment in the church cemetery.
