Cale "Snapper" Griffith Jr.Cale "Snapper" Griffith Jr., 72, Jasonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at his reisdence. Born Dec. 18, 1923, in Clay county, he was the sone of Clare St. and Orda (Burger) Griffith. He was a retired coal miner. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post #172. - - Surviviors include two daughters, Rita Grodotzke of Mifflinburg, Pa., and Wanda Miller of Jasonville; two sisters, Leona Kelly of Seymour and Iris Stevenson of Clay City; nine grandchildren and thre great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sone, Cal Griffith III, three brothers and four sisters. - - Services were 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Burial was in Little Flock Cemetery in Coalmont where military rited will be conducted. 14 Aug. 1996 Bloomfield News. |
