Leroy S. Griffith

Leroy S. Griffith, 82, Clay City, died Sunday, Dec 28, ar Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Born Oct. 11, 1915, in Owen County, he was the son of Samuel and Leota Griffith.

He was a retired farmer and owner/operator of the former Girffith Elevator. He was a 1933 grauate of Coal City High School. He was a member of the Vlay City United Methodist Church.

Surviviors include one sone and daughter-in-law, Dewey and Louise Griffith of Clay City; one brother, WIllis Griffith of Bloomfield; one sister, Annabelle Graf of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye L. (Blackketter) Griffith, 1995; one step son, Gary I. Griffith and several brothers and sisters.

Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Schoppenhorst-Slack Funeral Home in Clay City with the Rev. Ed Clark officiating. Internment was in Pleasant Bethel Cemetery. 1 Jan 1998. 1 Jan 1998 Bloomfield News
