James M. Hardesty

James M. HARDESTY was born at Robison, {Jackson Township, Greene County,} Indiana, to Frank and Zilla (COOPER) HARDESTY, August 4, 1892 and departed this life on January 4, 1944, at his home in Lyons, Indiana.

He had been afflicted with arthritis for several years, but bore his suffering with patience until the end. He united with the Christian Church at Washington, {Daviess County,} Indiana. While residing at Maywood he transferred his membership to the Christian Church there. After moving to Lyons he identified himself with the Church of Christ.

He was united in marriage to Emma EDINGTON, November 7, 1916. To this union were born two sons, Olaf Wayne, who died in infancy and Eugene Warren at home. Jim was a loving husband and a devoted father, and was loved by all who knew him.

Those surviving him are: the widow and son; the aged mother, Mrs. Zilla BUTLER; one sister, Mrs. David CANADA, of Bedford, Indiana; two brothers, Emerson and Quince HARDESTY, of Bicknell, {Knox County,} Indiana, and a host of relatives and friends.

Suffer not that his tolls are over, Weep not that his race is run. God grant that we may rest as calmly When our work, like his, is done Till then we yield to him to keep. Our treasures to him to keep. And rejoice in the glad assurance He giveth his loved ones sleep.
