John Nichols HASLER

DEATH’S HARVEST
HASLER

John Nichols HASLER was born December 12, 1854, near Scotland, Indiana, where he was reared and spent his entire life. He departed this life on April 6, 1930, aged seventy-five years, four months and six days. He was united in marriage to Julia LESTER October 20,1877. To this union eight children were born, namely: Mrs. Luck COCHRANE, of Bloomfield; Bert, Aden, and Clina, of Newberry; Mrs. Pierce MCNEELY, of Denver, Colorado, and Carlos, of Loogootee; Mina and Runes preceded him in infancy. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, six children, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Margaret COX, of Scotland; Mrs. Joseph LEDGERWOOD, of Odon, and Obe, of Scotland, and a host of relatives and friends.

Mr. Hasler was reared by Christian parents. He was sprinkled in infancy, and grew to manhood and had never made any confession of Christianity until recently. He saw his mistake of life and made his confession to Christ. He prayed much in his sickness and asked others to pray, and he said he was ready to go home. He suffered much, but died peacefully. Our dear old, father was taken away, how we miss him we never can tell, but with him all is well; for in that home far in the sky, he waits to join us by and by.

We wish to thank everyone who in any way assisted us through the sickness and death of our dear husband and father; the singers, Rev and Sister DAVIS, for their special song; Rev. MCBRIDE for his consoling words; the ones who gave floral offerings; Mr. SAPPENFIELD for his courtesies and all friends for their extended sympathy in our bereavement for the death of our dear husband and father.
