Dawson Kern

DEATH'S HARVEST

Dawson KERN aged thirty-two years, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe P. KERN, died Tuesday from injuries received in an accident at a grain elevator at Sandwich, Ill., caused by his coat catching onto a running corn sheller line shaft, which strangled him to death.

He was a World War soldier from Taylor Township, Greene County, and served in France. His remains were accompanied to Bloomfield today by Carl WILKINSON, who employed Mr. KERN at farm work. The remains were taken to the home of his parents in Taylor Township by Undertaker Geo. E. KIDD.

The deceased lost his wife by death a couple of years ago. He leaves a child three years old, which lives with its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. KERN.

The funeral will be held at Scotland Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Rev. J. N. A. DOWNEY, of Bloomfield. The interment will be in the Scotland Cemetery. The burial service will be under the auspices of the members of the Bloomfield Memorial Post of the American Legion and other soldiers of the World War.
