Tressie A. KirkmanTressie A. Kirkman, 91, of Anderson, Fomerly of Avoca, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1t Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Anderson. Born Sept. 26, 1901, in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Newton and Anna (Cain) Swango. She was a homemaker and member of thr First Assembly of God CHurch in Bedford. Surviviors include two sons, Jack E. Kirkman of LaPorte and James R. Kirkam of Anderson; two daughter, Mary J. McDowell of Springville and Mona Gayle Turner of Oolitic; sone sister, Truly Franklin of Bloomington; 16 grandchildre; 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great -grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornie A. Kirkman in 1969; one daughter, Barbara Flynn; four brothers, Orda Swango, Richard Swango, Virgil Swango, and Walter Swango; two sisters, Edna Watson and infant Flossie Swango and one grandson. Services were 2:30 p.m. Monday Dec. 29 at Day and Carter Mortuary in Bedford with the Rev. Richard Buher officiating. Burial was at Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. 31 Dec 1992 Bloomfield News. |
