Dorothy M. ShieldsLAFONTAINE ---- Dorothy M. Shields, 75, of LaFontaine and formerly of Linton, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital in Carmel. Born Sept. 10, 1928 in Linton, she was the daughter of John and Eliza (Cox) Stanton. She was a nurse's aide at Marion General Hospital in Marion, and was retired. She was a member of Swayzee Church of the Nazarene and the Swayzee Eastern Star. She graduated from Linton-Stockton High School in 1945. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Mary Shields of Gainsville, Va.; David W. and Anna Shields of Onward, Ind.; two daughters, Linda Eakright of LaFontaine; Maw Holderman of Jonesborro; one brother, Roy Stanton of Melbourne, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home -La Fontaine Chapel at 7 p.m. today with Pastor Duane Cragun officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stafford Cemetery in Linton.
