"OBITUARY TINCHER."

After a brief illness, Mrs. Nancy H. TINCHER died at the home of her nephew, Joe GOODMAN, near Linton, Monday, April 26, aged 100 years, 4 months and 25 days.

Miss Nancy Helen MAYFIELD was born in Hickman County, Tennessee, November 30, 1814, and was one of a family of thirteen children. At the age of 10 years she, with her parents, moved to Indiana, making the journey in a two-wheel cart drawn by an ox team. After remaining in Kentucky for a time, the family returned to Sullivan County, Indiana.

At the age of 20 years Miss MAYFIELD became the wife of Alfred CROUTHERS and soon after marriage they came to Greene County and settled near Linton. Her husband only lived five years, and four years later she married Samuel TINCHER.

She was the mother of four children, two of whom died in infancy and Sam and George W. grew to manhood, but are now dead. She leaves surviving her three grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was a life-long member of the Methodist Church, and throughout her life exhibited a true Christian spirit.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church of Linton, Wednesday at 10:30 o"clock conducted by Rev. W. W. MOORE.
