Kathryn "Kay" Webster, 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 12, at Bloomington Hospital following a brief illness.
Born Marie Kathryn Ament on Sept. 5, 1915 in Holden, Mo., she was the daughter of Benjamin Ditchler Ament and Bessie Claud Burroughs. She was the widow of Clyde Humphrey Webster, who she married on July 24, 1943 in Washington D.C.

She had a Master's Degree in Library Science and worked in the Law Library at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana until her retirement. Kathryn had been affiliated with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all her life. In her later years, she lived with her family in Koleen, where cooking and gardening were two of her favorite activities.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Paul R. Wilkes, Jr., Cheryl L. Fields and Timothy A. Webster, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clyde Webster; one daughter Claudia Elizabeth Wilkes; one son Clyde Humphrey Webster, Jr.; five brothers, Donald B., Joseph D., Francis C., William A., Robert M.; and one sister Marguerite E.

Graveside service will start at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, and will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Lorimer. She will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, beside her daughter.

Visitation will be at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington on Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m.
