James Garfield Mc Kee was born 27 Jun 1880 in Lyons, Greene, Indiana. He died 15 Oct 1964 in Washignton twp. Greene, Indiana from arteriosclerotic heart disease and was buried 17 Oct 1964 in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Washington twp., Greene, Indiana. He was the son of Robert Thomas Mc Kee and Martha Ann Dye. James married Lillie Gladys Vandeventer daughter of James Thomas Vandeventer and Polly Ann Long, on 2 May 1906 in , Greene, Indiana. Lillie was born 25 Apr 1886 in Calvertville, Greene, Indiana. She died 19 Feb 1966 in Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana and was buried 22 Feb 1966 in Prairie Chapel, Washington twp., Greene, Indiana. They lived their entire married life until James' death in Washington twp. first on the Mc Kee homestead which his father had purchased and then on various farms. The homestead went to his son Lowell Irving Mc Kee who sold it to distant cousins: to Raymond McKee and Bessie Mae McKee, husband and wife; Bill R. McKee; Reba Gillian on the 18th day of August 1960. After the death of James Lillie went to live with her son Alvin Robert Mc Kee and his family who lived in Culver, Marshall, Indiana on South Plymouth Street at the time.
