The Mansfield Store at Koleen The top of building reads: Mansfield & Son. Mansfield General Store about 1900 located at Koleen, Greene county Indiana. Owners were: William Henry Jr. "Black Jack" and Alice (Edington) Mansfield. The store was started by W. H's father who married Jane Baker and after his death during the Civil War she re-married to Jasper Hardesty who ran the store. W. H. had manufactured metal checks called "flicker's" that was issued when you brought goods in for trade it read: W. H. Mansfield &a Son; on opposite side good for so much trade. It was destroyed by fire in 1916. Margaret Alice Edington was born 18 Mar 1858 in , Greene, Indiana. She died 19 Feb 1935 in Bloomfield, Greene, Indiana and was buried in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield, Greene, Indiana. Margaret married William , Jr. Mansfield Henry, son of William Henry Mansfield and Jane Baker, on 8 Mar 1884 in , Greene, Indiana. William was born 7 Sep 1862 in Koleen, Greene, Indiana. He died 4 Feb 1946 in , Greene, Indiana and was buried in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield, Greene, Indiana. Jane Baker, daughter of Robert Baker and Sarah Christenberry, on 14 Mar 1867 in , Greene, Indiana. Jane was born 28 Jan 1838 in , Greene, Indiana. She died 4 May 1926 in , Greene, Indiana and was buried 6 May 1926 in Howell /Koleen Cemetery, Jackson twp., Greene, Indiana. she married 1st William Henry Mansfield, son of Walter Jacob Mansfield and Christina King, on 23 May 1858 in , Greene, Indiana. William was born about 1845 in Ohio. He died 1863 in near Vicksburg/Snyder's Bluff, Mississippi. in the Civil War. married 2nd Jasper Newton Hardesty (Aquilla , Thomas ) was born 26 Dec 1838 in Coshocton, Ohio.
