1908 postcard photo of Worthington High School Submitted by: Stephen J. Stalcup [puclats@sbcglobal.net] Worthington School (Jefferson Twp.) - There were two schools in 1870 one at S. Myra & Park St. and the other at N. Jefferson & Union St. April 1875 authorized the issued of $16,000 in bonds for a new school Consolidated with Jefferson twp. In 1878 a 3 year high school course was arranged and was the 1st high school in county and later was commissioned being the first one until 1889. In 1910 an addition was added and the gymnasium in 1945. In 1955 a new school was built and the new building combined all schools into one |
