Worthington School (Jefferson Twp.) - There were two schools in 1870 one at S. Myra & Park St. and the other at N. Jefferson & Union St. April 1875 authorized the issued of $16,000 in bonds for a new school Consolidated with Jefferson twp. In 1878 a 3 year high school course was arranged and was the 1st high school in county and later was commissioned being the first one until 1889. 1897 Primary 1 was built on S. Park and Myra. In 1910 an addition was added and the gymnasium in 1945. In 1955 a new school was built and the new building combined all schools into one.
