Will of Samuel JewellBk. 1 page 16-17 Filed August 22nd 1843 When I am about to part this life. I write my last will and testament that my body be intereed int he ground and my sole to God. That _ and it is my will that my neighbor and friend B. C. Ballard there to execute this my last will and testamnet. FIrst I will that Benjamin C. Ballard be and he is hereby ordained and appointed to sell all my goods and chattels on a credit of one year and that he sell my land all of it in three equal and installments the third in one year, one third within year and the ballance in another year and collect all debts due me. Second I will the _ of last _ be first paid and my funeral expenses secondly and thridly all my just debts and the remaining ballance be divided as foolows towit: That John C. Jewell have five dollars for the love and affection I have for him as my son and William P. Jewell have twenty dollars for the love and affection I have for him as my son. and that the remaining ballance be equally divided between my wife Nancy Jewell, ELizabeth Brookbank, Sarah M. _, Mary Woodsmall, and Margaret Calvert, Isaac P. Jewell for the love and affection I have for them. As my children except Nancy she as my wife. _ I _ the sale of one bed and _ick and bedding and that the same to Isaac P. Jewell to _ him equal with the ballance as they _ of them _ and _ that from _ in their _ Isaac having not got _ as I _ of. In testimoney whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the _th day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty-three. Cavins clerk of probate court of said county and after being by me duly sowrn accordig to law. deposeth and saith "We saw Samuel Jewell sign seal publish and declare the within writing to be his last will and testament and that we believe he was at the time of its execution of sound mind and memory and that we signed our names thereto as subscribing witnesses in the presence of said testator and of each other and at his request.
