Will of Philander V. HollisterWill Bk. 1 page 41-2 Philander V. Hollister will filed May 21st 1848 and then recorded towit: State Of Indiana Greene County ss} I Philander V. Hollister of the County and State aforesaid being weak in body but of sound desposing mind and memroy have thought to make and endorse this to be my last will and testament 1st It is my will and desire that all my just debts _ personally and sp_dely paid. 2nd I will and bequeath unto my wife Priscilla Hollister to be at her disposal during her natural life _ widowhood all my real and personal estate. 3rd After the decease of my wife I give and bequeath into my son John Hollister all my real estate provided that said John Hollister supports my thee children towit Jane Hollister, Clhristian Hollister and Mary B. Hollister and also to support Philander Chambers if he stays with him, until they becoma of lawful age. 4th It is my wish and desire that all my personal Property be equally divided between mu thrre above named daughters. Lastly I conscrate, constitute, and appoint Joshua Brazell executor of ths my last will and testament, And hereby acknowledge and confirm this to me my last will and Tetsament .
Signed, sealed publishjed and declared to be the last will and testament of the Testator having been first read to him in the presence of us who have in the presence of each other subscribed the same this eighteenth day of February 1848/
I Samuel R. Cavins Clerk of the Porbate Court in and for the County of Greene in the State of Indiana do herby certify that this last will and Testament of Philander V. Hollister was this day brought before me in my office in Bloofmield in said county and was duly proven by the oaths of John Wilson and Cornelius Bogard the subscribing witnessess thereto whose exaaminations, were reduced to writing and subscribed to in the words and figures folling, to wit. We do solomenly swear that we saw Philnader V. Hollister sign and publish and delcare this written writing puporting to be his last will and testament that we signed our names thereto as subscribing witnesses in the prescence of the said Philnader V. Hollister at his request and th the presence of each other. That the said Philander V. Hollister was of full age to despose his property and of sound mind and memory at the time of his making and signing his last will and testament and not under coereson or _ and that of his own free will and accord he signed said will, that we are of lawful age and in no wise interested in either the real or personal estate of the deceased. So help us God.
In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix the Seal of said Court Bloomfield April the 8th day 1848
Letters of Tetamentary granted May 24, 1848 P. V. Hollister Estate. Bonfiled May 26th 1848 towit. Know all men by these present that we Joshua Brazell and John Jones all inhabitants of Green State of Indiania are held and firmly bound unto the State of Indiana in the _ sum of eigiht hundred dollars to the payment of which will and truly to be made, we bind oursleves and our heirs executors and Adminsitrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seal and dated 26th day of May 1848. Whereas Letters testmanetary on the estate of Philader V. Hollister late of the County of Greene in the State of Indianadeceased have been duly and legally granted by the Clerk of the Probate Court of said County of Green to the above named and bonded Joshua Brazel. Now therefore the condition of the above obligation is to the effect following towit: that the said Joshua Brazel shall diligently and faithfully execute the duties and trust commited to and required of him as such executor and that he will obey all orders andd decrees of the Probate Court of Greene County made pursuant to law, touching the adminsistration of the estate entrusted to him then ad in that case the above obligation shall cause and be null and void. otherwise to be and remain in full force and _ _ law. Taken and approved by me May 24, 1848.
Test, S, R, Cavins, Clerk GPC Oath of Executor State of Indiana Greene County_ct} I do solomonly swear that I will hereby and faithfully discharge the duties and trusts of Executor of the last will and testamer Philander V. Hollister deceased aacording to law So help me God.
Subscribed and sworn to before me in my office May 24th 1848
I Samuel R. Cavins Clerk of the Probate Court in and for the County of Green in the State of Indiana do hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of the last will and testement of Philander V. Hollister late of Green County and State of Indiana deceased and of the Certificate of Propbate as endorsed tereon and Joshua Brazell having duly qualified and given bond as required by law as such executor is duly authorized to take upon himself the admoinstration of said estate according to such will.
