Will of Thomas Freeman

Will filed March 19th 1861

I Thomas Freeman of the County of Lawrence and State of Indiana made this my last will and Testament this the 9th day of September Eighteen Hundred and fifty three.

I am is a low state of sickness and consider it uncertain as to my recovery and it is my will if I should not recover

1st That my son Lewis has off my estate $50.00

2nd That my son William have my sorrel horse

3rd I give and bequeath to my wife Mahala all my personal and real Estate to dispose of to the best benefit of herself and children which she is at full liberty to sell exchange and dispose of in her own name and right having full confidence that she will take care of it pay my little debts, and provide for and take care of the little children. I wish that she may go steadily on with the business with the help of the children but to make changes of situation when advsiable and Judicious.

I appoint and constitute my wife Mahala my sole Executor and manager of any public authority.

This my last will and Testament I subscribe in precence of Thomas G. Tyler, James T. George and Winthrop Foote this the 9th day of Sep. 1853.

Before me John I. Miliam clerk of the Court of Commona Pleas within and for said county this day James T. George took and subscribed _ _ _ the following oath towit:

I James T. George so sollmenly swear that Thomas Freeman sign seal publish and _ the foregoing writing to be his last will and testament. That the said Thomas Freeman at the time of signing his last will and testament was of sound mind and dispposing memory and cpmetent to devise his property
