Frederick Willard RAYL, son of James C. and Florence RAYL, left Kokomo Ind 23 Jul 1918 for Camp Zachary Taylor , Ky; later, he was assigned to the Wagon Co. 12th Ammunition Train, Camp McClellan, Ala.
His discharge was issued at Camp Zachary Taylor Ky, 7 Feb 1919.

Walter A. RAYL

Walter A. RAYL was born at Sharpsville Ind. When 23 years of age, he enlisted in the medical corps and was assigned to the 223rd Ambulance Co. His discharge was granted at Camp Sheridan Ala 11 Jan 1919.

Emil C. RAYLE/RAYL

Emil C. [Cortese] RAYLE [sic - RAYL], son of Joseph B. and Mary GOODNIGHT RAYL, was born at Sharpsville, Ind 1 Aug 1894.
He completed his college work in April 1916 and on 15 Jun 1917 he enlisted in the medical corps at Indianapolis Ind. At Camp Greenleaf, Chicamauga Park, Ga, he was placed in the Fourth Battalion, 27th Co and commissioned second lieutenant in the veterinary corps.
For eleven months, he was on duty in France. He returned to the states in Jun 1919 and was discharged 16 Jul 1919.

Herschel REXROAT

Herschel REXROAT enlisted in Kokomo Ind. 5 Oct 1917. He served for a time at Camp Shelby, Miss. but previous to returning to Kokomo he was at the United States Disiplinary Barracks.

William Hardin REXROAT

William Hardin REXROAT was sent out from Kokomo in the selective service draft Feb. 26, 1918 and after a period of training at Camp Zachary Taylor, he was transferred to the base hospital, Camp Sheridan, Ala.

RIOTH, Orville Sylvester

RIOTH, Orville Sylvester, son of Edward M. and Martha J. RIOTH, was born at New London, Ind. 8 Apr 1894.
On March 29, 1918, he entered the service at Kokomo Ind., and was sent to Camp Zachary Taylor Ky; later he was sent to Fort Benjamin Harrison [Indiana], where he was a member of the 100th Detatchment Q.M.C.
On 24 Feb 1919, he received his discharge.

Clive Ambrose ROLLISON

Clive Ambrose ROLLISON joined the Navy 23 Oct 1918 and the same day reported for service at Indiana University. He served until 20 Dec 1918. His discharge papers were signed by F.P. WURSTER, Ensign U.S.N.R.F.

William DeArmond ROSS

William DeArmond ROSS, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph D. ROSS, was born in Howard Twp., Howard County, Indiana 25 Apr 1894. He attended the Kokomo High School one year.
In November 1914, he enlisted in the army at Fort Thomas, KY. After serving on the Mexican Border, he was sent to the Panama Canal and later to the Phillipines as orderly and corporal in Co I, 27th US Infantry.
When his regiment was sent to Siberia, he was transferred to the Intelligence Department of the Phillipines, where he served until his discharge, 21 Apr 1919. He qualified as an expert marksman in the Ohio State Militia and the Regular Army.
On 25 Nov 1919, he returned to Kokomo, bringing with him an English bride, Dorothy DICKENSON, whom he had married 6 Aug 1919 in Manila, Phillipines. She is a native of Burnley, Lancashire, England.

According to Vivian (Martineau) Rust: Roy Vale Rust Date of death May 20, 1940. Wife was Rose (CHANTLER) RUST Son Roy Vale Rust, Jr. Daughters Marion (De Priest) Rust.

According to Robert Rust: Parents of Roy Vale RUST, Sr. were Frederick RUST, Jr., born in Jackson County about 1858 and Kemie O. BROWN. They were married in Jackson County on April 5, 1886. Parents of Frederick Rust, Jr. were Frederick C. Rust born November 19, 1830 in Blasheim, Lebeka, Prussia and died Jackson County July 21, 1908 and Charlotte Brown. They were married in Jackson County on February 25, 1866. Parents of Frederick C. Rust, Sr. were Wilhelm Rust, born about 1810 in Blasheim, Lebeka, Prussia and Charlotte Vostick born about 1801 in Blasheim, Lebeka, Prussia.
