Saturday, April 14 -- GLHS Department Open House & HCGS Membership Drive from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tour the Genealogy & Local History Department at the Main Branch of the Library and find out what is available. View demonstrations of available databases, ask questions of knowledgeable genealogists, and learn how and where to start your genealogy research. HCGS - members will be on hand to answer questions about the Society and sign up new members. Receive a free Genealogy Beginners Packet. Door prizes will be given away. No registration required. Sunday, July 22 -- "Barebones Genealogy", a lock-in research event from 12 noon - 5 p.m. in the Genealogy & Local History Services Department of the Main Branch of the Library. This is concentrated research time on while the library is closed. The event is free - no food is provided, but feel free to bring a brown bag lunch or snacks. Registration begins Jul. 2.
