Thursday, January 22 - Genealogy & Local History Department “Genealogy on the Internet Workshop” will meet 7-9 p.m. in the Computer Lab of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Registration needed.
Saturday, February 7 - HCGS Meeting 10 a.m.–noon. Business meeting and program.
Saturday, February 21 - Genealogy & Local History Department “Genealogy Basics Workshop” will meet 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Registration needed.
Saturday, March 7 - HCGS Meeting 10 a.m.–noon. Business meeting and program.
March 4 – April 22 - Genealogy & Local History Department beginning genealogy class “Climbing Your Family Tree” will meet 6-9 p.m. on Wednesdays for 8 weeks. To register for this class, pay the fee in the GLHD.
Monday, April 6 - HCGS Meeting 6:30–8:30 p.m. Business meeting and program.
Friday, April 17 - "Genealogy for Night Owls", our popular lock-in research evening from 5:30 p.m.-12:00 midnight in the Genealogy & Local History Department of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Fee includes a buffet dinner and door prizes. To register for this class, pay the fee in the GLHD.
Saturday, April 18 – Genealogy & Local History Department Open House & HCGS Membership Drive from 2–5 p.m. Tour the Genealogy & Local History Department at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Ask questions of knowledgeable genealogists, and learn how and where to start your genealogy research. Society members will be on hand to answer questions about the society and sign up new members. Receive a free Genealogy Beginners Packet. Door prizes will be given away. No registration required.
Monday, May 4 - HCGS Meeting 6:30–8:30 p.m. Business meeting and program.
Saturday, May 9 - Genealogy & Local History Department research trip to Allen County Public Library in Ft. Wayne. Leave the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library at 7 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. Registration needed.
Thursday, May 21 - Genealogy & Local History Department “Genealogy on the Internet Workshop” will meet 7-9 p.m. in the Computer Lab of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. Registration needed.
Saturday, May 23 - DAR Workshop for the public from 10 a.m.-noon, the Daughters of the American Revolution will provide information on the application process for joining the DAR. For more information, contact Diane Knight at 452-8285
Saturday, May, 30 – Genealogy and DNA Conference with Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Ivy Tech Campus, Marion IN. Cost of entire workshop (including a lunch and dinner) is $65. Sunday, July 26 - "Barebones Genealogy", a lock-in research event from 1–5 p.m. in the Genealogy & Local History Department of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. This is concentrated research time while the library is closed. The event is free: there is no buffet dinner or door prizes like our Genealogy for Night Owls, but feel free to bring a brown bag lunch or snacks. Registration needed.

October 1-31 - "Silent Auction" of duplicate or superseded genealogical and historical materials in the Genealogy & Local History Department of the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library.
