NOTE: Query modified 25 mar 1998

I have been searching for any info. on my great-great grandfather Bland Ballard JONES.
I do not know his date of birth however his date of death was May 5 1882 in Native, Honey Cr. township. His wifes name was Sarah LAYTON
I know nothing more about her. I did find them in a census in 1850 in Johnson Township.
There childrens names were, May, William, Martha,Nancy A. Benjamin F. and Anthony L. whom I believe to be twins. Benjamin Franklin was my great grandfather.

I am looking for information on Alsa B. WATKINS who died in Howard County in 1849. Alsa was born in VA but had lived in Henry County since the 1820s.
Specifically I want to know if Alsa or his brother Thomas had a son William J. WATKINS (who was born in 1821 in VA or IN, married Sarah Jane HUDSON in Randolph County in 1845, and lived in Wabash County in 1850 prior to moving to Iowa).
The Thomas WATKINS who bought land in Howard in 1848 might be the son of Alsa or might be Alsa's brother Thomas, or might be the son of Thomas (whose wife was Susanna).

Searching for info on Fortunatus Cosby BUCHANAN, son on Robert BUCHANAN and Sarah Teresa WATKINS, lived in Howard Co, IN in 1860.
He married Mary BUCHANAN and had at least 4 children. He was living in Johnson Co, IN in 1850 where he was the county assessor.
Would like to correspond with anyone researching this family and will be glad to share.
My ancestor, Robert BUCHANAN and wife, Sarah Teresa, died in Bartholomew Co, IN where they were living with daughter and son-in-law, Louisa and Milton SPURGIN.
The family moved to IN from Henry/Trimble Co, KY and other members on the Buchanan and Watkins family also moved to IN.
